  • Pass Christian Library – The Pass Christian Library, located in on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, was flooded during Katrina, and the entire collection was lost. Because the library building is unusable, they are currently running out of a donated trailer. The majority of acquistions and children’s programming are dependant on donated materials. Can the HCLS Accept Used Books?

When purchasing books, we do prefer to receive new items. They’re becoming a permanent part of the collections, and we expect them to receive heavy use. If you have used items in your personal collection you’d like to donate, please email me a list of the titles, along with the ISBN and their condition, and I’ll let you know if they are currently needed. There is very little climate controlled storage space available right now, so we’re trying to limit used items to titles that are needed on the shelves immediately. When our larger library buildings are close to reopening we’ll have plenty of space, and will be able to accept more used titles.
