More pictures from our librarian, Sharon

Sharon sent along a couple of photos, which demonstrate in many ways “Before.”

Me and Legolas in my office, the cardboard stand-up I got as a present when I got my MLIS–he’s saying “Whoa, I reallly dig a lady who has her MLIS.”

As for the firehat, the far end of our library is a firestation. Throws ‘em for a loop when they come visit.

Father’s Day Donations!

Hi. Pamie, here.

It’s Father’s Day, and many of you have donated in your Dad’s name, which is fantastic. My dad was a voracious reader, often devouring an entire novel in one sitting. He was territorial about them, too. He needed his favorite book — QBVII — placed on a shelf in the living room where he could see it at all times. In high school, I wanted to borrow Les Miserables to read before he’d started it, and he was so sure he wouldn’t get it back he bet me ten bucks that I wouldn’t finish it by the end of the month. He got his book back, but he owed me ten bucks.

So, in honor of our dads, don’t forget to spend a little time with a book today. If you are a dad, maybe tonight you can read someone a bedtime story.
