Donate to win: Signed copies of John Scalzi’s upcoming novella!

john-scalzi.jpgThis is pretty cool! John Scalzi has launched a Dewey prize challenge on his Whatever blog. First, here’s what John says about his upcoming novella:

… I am currently writing a short science fiction novella (about 17,000 – 20,000 words) which is going into an anthology called Godlike Machines, which will be published by the Science Fiction Book Club at some point later this year. I’m not going to give you the details of the story, because it really is best as a surprise, but I will say that when the anthology editor Jonathan Strahan approached me to contribute, I said “I will only if you let me do this,” and then I pitched him an absolutely insane story idea that no one in his right mind would buy. And of course he said yes, just to mess with my head. Bwa ha ha ha ha hah ha! So, trust me, it’ll be a good read.

John has put together a great prize package. Two winners who donate to the Dewey 2008 book drive between Feb. 21 and Mar. 21 and let him know what they’ve donated on his blog (don’t forget to let us know too) will receive a signed, self-published copy of his novella and (AND!) a signed copy of the Godlike Machines anthology when it is released!

As John points out you’ll also be eligible for our prizes too so he’s not lying when he says “there’s just so much win going on.”
