thank you letters

From pamie and Glark

We can’t thank you guys enough for pushing us over the 1000 book mark. From the pretty people at Bookslut to the bidders for the Tubey’s Kids auctions, TWoPpers and Invision and everyone who has told a friend or blogged about the site, you’ve made a huge difference in such a short time, and we’re proud to be part of your part of the Internet.

Thank You from Pass Christian Library

Pam and David,

Thank you so much for setting up the website for the new book donations for the Pass Library. People are buying up the items on our list!

The Army Corps of Engineers group with Michelle Bannister just had a shopping spree worth $500 in children’s books! They have been sent to Headquarters for processing and when done we will be able to check them out the old fashioned way with a date stamp and card!!

The children will be thrilled to check out these great new books!

Thank you two so much for thinking of us and inspiring people to help us rebuild our collection.

Reading Other People’s Mail

DeAnn sent a copy of this letter she received in the mail recently:

On behalf of the Biloxi Library, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the generosity of the “Farscape” group from TWoP. A lot of bad things happened to our area, but a not-so-small-silver-lining to our stormy cloud is the many good people we’ve met as a result. We were thrilled to receive The Oxford Anthology of African-American Poetry and Anatomy of Wonder: a Critical Guide to Science Fiction and can hardly wait until we can put it back on the shelves at our library.

These books will be processed and plated, “In Honor of Tara “Wing Chun” Ariano and Jacob Clifton.”

Thank you again for your gift. We have all been so touched by the outpouring of help we have received from people like you.

Sincerely,
Charline Longino
Head Librarian, Biloxi

  1. Today is a very special day. Not only am I going to the Pass Christian Library to donate the last $40 in cash, I am also going to help celebrate with Miss Sally. Today her new house is being assembled. I will try and send a few pictures of the City of Pass Christian so that people can see not only the progress that has been made, but the fact that there is still so much to be done here. The groups of volunteers are still pouring in to help families clear their lots so that new homes can be built.
